Item Description

The owners’ passion for the forest of beautiful Vancouver Island inspired the design of these matching sofa end cabinets and entertainment unit. After visiting the owners’ home and hearing stories about their connection to the outdoors and their natural surroundings I was able to design pieces that truly reflected their passion. These cabinets are built with Mahogany recycled from shipping pallets and Maple.

Testimonials

"Thank you Burns for having your exceptional and unique custom art furniture in our gallery in the recent exhibition, “The Art of the Landscape” at the Ferry Building Gallery. Your work speaks to the natural landscape of the West-coast and I am in awe of the way in which you juxtapose the various types and shapes of wood and stone to create truly brilliant one-of-a-kind furniture. Our gallery patrons and the visiting public very much admired and appreciated your designs and craftsmanship"

Ruth Payne, Ferry Building Gallery

"Burns is an artist. He made a thick yellow cedar exterior table with live edges, and an interior dining table. Both of them were custom pieces. Burns’ work has wow factor. As well as being beautiful, the pieces are also rock solid, functional, durable. "

"My name is Daniel Parke, and I am principal of Salal Architecture, a small design oriented architecture firm based on Bowen Island, near Vancouver. I have known Burns for over 3 years. I initially worked with him in the design and construction of his own house, and he has also built custom millwork and furniture in my own home. I always enjoy working with Burns. He is a true craftsman. I meet many different trades on job sites, and Burns is one of a rare breed of highly talented craftsmen who are increasingly difficult to find. He is technically very good with wood, he understands design and aesthetics, is very detailed oriented, is very current with issues around sustainability, is very professional and is a great communicator. I have no hesitation in recommending Burns Jennings. Sincerely,"

Daniel Parke, MAIBC
